kbaj: the rant on brittney is great, i love it — and your point on the wealth matter is well taken: as long as one keeps their morals and values strong and spends for the sake of Allah, the uber ajr is phenomenal.

haha, and yes; i guess i can’t make it to be where brittney is, but i can make it somewhere decent… i guess though that depends on where and what; it seems like a lot of music videos and songs of today are not really “rated pg.”

the funny part is that one of the richest men in the world, bill gates, is rich because of his idea of windows in the cs land… and although i am a cs major, i want to become rich through becoming a popular musician. crazy, isn’t it..

I think that B Spears does not actually write her lyrics even. She just sings what is given to her. I dont think she even has any musical talent. heck, her whiny voice doesnt classify as singing. She was lucky and perservered, was at the right place at the right time. Any girl can become what she is with makeup artists, personal trainers and dance choreographers (maybe plastic surgery or not). She has given in to base public desires and sold out. So that is my rant on Brittany.

As for wealth, I think if you are able to attain it by halal means, then that is a blessing. Especially if you spend it in the way of Allah, there is so much ajr in that. I think as long as you do not sell yourself out and neglect your duties to Allah, family and community, then we should aspire to be the best we can be in terms of financial success.
