gt rap

changing topics from the previous umm... interesting comments to the previous post, here was something i wrote up. i was gonna record it too but then i didn't feel like it. but yeah. peace outs.

a few years ago in senior year
i had a confusion and a bit of fear
where should i go to university
would it be emory umich or GT

not sure and having no real clue
i chose GT as the thing to do
and as a cs major i began my school
thinking coding is fun and cool

and at tech i was to soon meet
people among the truly elite
friends whom i can't equate
to anyone i've met till this date

and there i got my first real feel
of desi culture and the whole fob ordeal
saw all these dudes come up to me and say,
yaar, for shadi, doctor is the way

so i thought the solution would be
to persue a degree in biology
and take the mcats when time comes
and go to emory with my chums

but after ochem, out of my brain
the ideas went out the drain
and even at the cost of a biwi
there'd be no bio degree for me

and i got involved in MSA
and was invited to meetings of PSA
and all i got from all that stuff
is great friends and that's enough

and while i could rap all day
i am running out of things to say
so peace out to all of you
especially those in my GT crew

Awww, that was sooooo sweet Ahmed. I love you.

  2. Jawwad says:

A doctor he was going to be,
So that he could have a shadi,
    But shortly after organic chemistry,
His plans for a biwi were history.

  3. aneounimoues says:

    I love you Jawwad.

  4. ahmedre says:

    haha! jawwad lol.

now i am just a playa,
    cash stashed by the laya,
and ain’t no worries for me,
    cuz i got no biwi.

[edited by ahmedre, for fear that this'd be read by my to-be larkee... and then in trouble i would be, with my beloved biwi].

  5. aneounimoues says:

    I love you Ahmed.

  6. Jawwad says:

    now you want a honey,
that likes you fo yo money,
ain’t no worry for you today,
in the hereafter, you might pay

  7. ahmedre says:

why do you assume that i would go
marry a girl who wants my dough
the number one priority for me
    is nothing more than piety.

  8. shaela says:

old mcdonald had a farm, e-i-e-i-o

  9. jawwad says:

you said you is a playa wit a stash o’cash
no worries cuz there aint no bivi who’d bash…
you. if she knew, what you been up to,
    breakin down and playin WoW
then sayin on your blog how
you need a wife with piety,
how hard is it for you to see?
what you sow is what you reap,
so return the game like the lady said,
before it messes with your head,
it ok, we all make mistakes,
dont me ashamed, sometimes it takes,
more than once, but stay steadfast
on the path, before time has passed.

i ain’t talkin just to you,
and hear me out, don’t be fooled,
i got mad respect and we love you bro,
so I just want you too know
if you ever need anything, we’re here for you,
me and the rest of your GT crew.

  10. ahmedre says:

    are you trying to decree
that i don’t care for piety
just because i bought a game
to play online - isn’t that lame?

especially when i did speak out
that the game got no immoral route
and that the only problem that i see
is time and the factor of addictivity

but as long as i keep it in control
and keep holding a burning coal
then what’s wrong with some fun
as long as its moral and nothing to shun

and as i did mention before
if i found the game at its core
to be immoral in any way
or something i play all day
then give up the game i surely will
and won’t ever get a gaming bill

i don’t really see anything wrong
and this rap is getting kinda long
so if i clarified my point indeed
    i feel i’ve done a decent deed
but if convinced you are not
and you remain stuck to your thought
then here is what i have to say -
think of me as you will and may
for the knowledge of me is known by One
not to all beneath the sun
and He will be the final judge
on a day when we can’t run or budge
so hope now all is okay
so good luck with finals and have a nice day

  11. Fariha says:

    since we’re rhyming,
    not quite sure why,
    i’ll rhyme too,
    or at least i’ll try

    i didn’t know,
    i would have created,
    so much fitna,
    by the words i stated.

    it seems to be,
a simple misunderstanding, (<- dang, i couldn’t fit that in smoothly)
    between perceptions based,
    on what people see.

    no doubt ahmed your intent,
is pure and pious 100 percent,
but the site you sited has umm,
how you say it, some bad content.

but obviously you did not know,
and thus as stated its no big blow,
and of course you have nothing to show,
or prove to anyone and so,

i end this pathetic poem to say,
that in the end of this long day,
we are here to help each other on the way,
to Allah, and to keep from going astray.

(now my disclaimer as i always share)
not to say you’re going astray
but just that when people care
don’t take to heart the things they say.

okay, enough already… i know why you guys end up having such long poems.

  12. Fariha says:

hey, what happened to the rest of my poem… man, i should be studying for finals… now i gotta figure out what i had left in the poem…jeez. anyways, i was just saying that it seems to be, a simple misunderstanding, of perceptions of what people see… oh wait, its coming back…

  14. Fariha says:

hmmm… wait, i’ll figure this out… anyways, its too late to act suave now.

    hehe, wait, there’s more… i was just testing…

  17. Fariha says:

sorry* i probably shouldn’t have giggled on a brother’s blog… anyways, i hope my idiotic scenario relieved some tension. salaam.

  18. Nida says:

Fariha, since we don’t hate each other any more, I think I should be allowed to instruct you stop acting like such a freaking hardass. Please hon =)

  19. Fariha says:

astagfirullah for using such language ukthee. La howla wa la quwatta…i’d spit on u to rid you of the devil but ur not in front me. (just kidding dear, u know i love u)

    lessons from you i’ve learned,
    dearest x-enemy,
    yet i shall not turn,
    soft****** when judging me.

(btw, i never hated you, hating kills the heart)

  20. Fariha says:

i guess this wouldn’t be the best time to say **** are just as bad as cuss words. …that’s why silence is ibaaduth.

  21. ********** says:

    *** are** * ****** not *****. ******** * ****.

  22. muchfitna says:

what’s wiff the rap, and the rhymin
go all of you and get on with your livin
let ahmed be, gettin his game on
challenge me to CS, and i’ll show him who’s the son

meh, to hell with CS, WoW, and Command and Conquer
you’d be better of bangin yo head with a ‘kankar!’
hit the books, the works, the drawing pad
we are not here to play and do bad
if we knew our purpose, our destiny
our provisions would be nothing more than worship, let alone money!

so let us rectify our intentions (once again!)
close our eyes and count to ten
look unto ourselves as if we were a twig
and recognize Who is really Big.
after this introspection there is no room for
wasting time on games, duniya, or anything more ..
than the bare minimum to get us to …
the next stop on the way to you-know-Who.

and all this may sound a bit contradictory
particulary the first few lines of this story
but who cares about those words
take the good and leave the rest fo them birds

  23. jawwad says:

muchfitna took all of ya. Everyone can shut up now.

  24. Fariha says:

what a nice thing to say.

  25. jawwad says:

    aww, thanks.
