The pedant is a government experiment of mind control. The military has developed pain rays, and mind-control devices which emit low frequency radiation. Humans subjected to targetted low frequency radiation (see: Acoustic Psycho-correction) exhibit a sense of panic in non-panic situations, temporary paralysis, nausea, diarrhea, vertigo, palpitations, disorientation, severe headaches, loss of memory, loss of concentration, retinal bleeding, burnt face (even at night), faulty speech, loss of co-ordination, irritability, and even sleep disturbances.
By wearing such a pedant, the transmitter would no longer need to be a large device requiring a lot of power. Since the pedant resonates at low frequencies, a lower power transmitter could be used, as the pedant acts as an antenna with very high gain - reducing the requirement for high transmission power. We’re all gonna die.
