Thx for your response. Apparently, the problem was because i was using the old ArabicReshaper class. Now after using an updated class from Qiraat Application (https://github.com/jazarine/Qiraat/blob/master/src/org/qiraat/ArabicReshaper.java) and change the font to quranic font, it all displayed well. we are using something based off of Amr Gawish’s reshaper… you can check the code that we are using on http://github.com/ahmedre/quran_android – specifically, see the ArabicReshaper class (https://github.com/ahmedre/quran_android/blob/master/src/com/quran/labs/androidquran/util/ArabicReshaper.java). note that tanzil’s uthmani based texts need an uthmani font to render.

Assalamualaikum,

I am from Indonesia, just starting android programming but not new to java. I was trying to display quranic text only to found out that android has poor support on arabic text. I tried Better Arabic Reshaper utilities by amr gawish, but quranic text are not joined perfectly. Do you have any advice on this? p.s : i use quranic text from tanzil.net, i prefer not to use the text image because of internet issues here in Indonesia (low bandwith and all)

@Rahmat – thanks, sorry for the late reply and glad it worked for you.
@Usman – from the settings, under translations, choose the urdu translation. it will download and you should be able to view it then.

ahmedre, i have download file .zip from everyayah.com, extract them to folder data in sdcard then i rename .mp3 with number like 1.mp3 and its work, no crash.
thanks! keep makes usefull aplication like this.
May you make aplication about hadits for offline.

i have tried many times downloading surah yaseen audio but it fails everytime…can you please upload the audio files or could you kindly guide how to manually install audio files
