just experienced my first earthquake. i was pulling up at the parking lot of the masjid for isha, and i waited a second to shut the engine off and i was like “why is my car shaking like that?” — i took my foot off the brake and my car was still shaking. i got out of the car, walked away from it, puzzled at the shaking (the whole time i thought it was the car, i didn’t realize it was the ground).
i only realized after the salah when the sheikh started talking about a verse (3:143) and saying how we’d just experienced being saved from death, and then the man said that people should go home and be with their families. so i asked my friend and he told me it was an earthquake.

so aside from this weekend (which was insane — temperatures here reached 104 this weekend, but i hear this only happens for 2 weeks in the summer after which the weather becomes normal again), the weather has been incredible this week. sure, its a little warm during the day, but after 3asr time, the weather becomes nice and cool, as if it were fall. the weather is so nice that it just feels wrong to be inside, so you find yourself walking outside, and you see tons of people walking outside too…
pieces. had some amazing weather these past two days — i went to work without a jacket today for the first time in several months! so beautiful.

ff7 advent children looks pretty sweet, i prolly wanna see it when it comes out. there’s also going to be a katamari damacy 2 coming out. katamari damacy is one of the strangest games i’ve played, but still a pretty neat game.

today, it rained like insanity. like seriously. so it rained all night and stuff and in the morning it was fine. so i went to work, and, just out of cautiousness, i took my umbrella. when it came time to leave, i was amazed – it was like pitch black outside and it was raining insanely.
so then i started driving home and the exprience was simply horrible. traffic was the least of problems… the water in some places was so high up, it felt that i was driving a boat rather than a car. i had my wipers on max speed, and it was still kinda hard to see. even more so, as i would drive, big splashes of water would come from both sides of my car. but al7amdulillah (all praise and thanks be to God), we made it home safely.
i haven’t done any coding for the past few days, or anything really note worthy either. so that’s all for now!
the weather today was absolutely incredibly amazing. so i played basketball. and then i came home and was hungry. so i took a shower. and then i cooked dinner – chicken fingers/strips… and rice… and heated some vegatables (fasolya bayda – black eyed peas without a black eye) that my mom had given me before i left a month ago… and that is all.
oh and today (thursday) marks 1 month, 1 week, and 1 day of being here.
